AlmaVeda
Ayurvedic and Botanical Birthwork
"The Art of Returning Home"
My name is Emily Bayus
I am the woman behind AlmaVeda. I am a native of Louisville, Ky and proud to now be serving this community.
I am a certified Ayurvedic Wellness Counselor and trained Botanical and Ayurvedic Birth Keeper. In 2020 I became a mama of twins and have firsthand experienced the highs and lows that come with becoming a mother. My personal struggles through the transition from Maiden to Mother have truly inspired me to take my love and admiration for Ayurveda and herbal medicine and serve mamas in a way that brings us back to the roots of how mamas should be honored and cared for. We are the foundation of humanity, after all. This wisdom is deep, timeless, sacred, and essential. I am grateful and honored to be on this journey with you and look forward to connecting with you and supporting you however is best for you.

Birth is an Initiation
Birth is an initiation every time a child is born. Massive shifts happen physically, mentally, emotionally, within family relationships and day to day dynamics. Life is different on the other side than it was before. This experience is profound, sacred and delicate. Becoming a mama is a Rite of Passage and when this isn't properly acknowledged and honored, birthers can become fragmented between identities.
My mission and intention is to honor this Initiation from pregnancy all the way through the postpartum Sacred Window. Honoring your pregnancy, blessing your journey, offering love to baby, preparing for a meaningful labor, and holding you through the first 6 weeks postpartum. My hope is that you move through this experience feeling nourished and that you come out of your Sacred Window feeling grounded and vital as a Mama, at home within your Self.
Essence of AlmaVeda
They say that Motherhood is the greatest spiritual path a woman can walk. Ayurveda also agrees that this experience opens an opportunity for Mama to deepen her relationship with her Self and open her heart in new and profound ways.
The care provided by AlmaVeda is intended to nourish and support all levels, down to the spiritual.
Alma = Soul Veda = Knowledge
It is my intention to "Mother the Mother" through her experience so that she may heal, relax and rejuvenate in a way that connects her to the wisdom of her soul & her Truth.
The symbol I've chosen for AlmaVeda is a ceramic vessel.
Clay has a wise feminine and earth energy. Mamas are vessels for new life. When that new life comes earth side it is more important than ever that we fill and nourish Mama's vessel so that she may extend that nourishment to her baby from a replenished and sustainable place.
